intu Watford

Set within a prosperous north London commuter town, intu Watford has all the top brands. And guess what, it’s about to get even better...

Anchored by John Lewis, intu Watford is the place to shop attracting visitors from the local town and from all across the affluent Home Counties and surrounding London boroughs.

Since opening its doors in the 1990’s the centre has continued to evolve and is home to quality brands, such as Apple, Kurt Geiger, MAC, Zara and Thomas Sabo, which keep customers coming back time and time again. And, our multi-million pound investment to enhance the centre by adding more fantastic retail brands, places to eat and leisure choices to take intu Watford to the next level and deliver a ‘go to’ destination from morning, right through into the evening.

A top 20 retail destination

Our multi-million pound investment will elevate Watford to a top-20 retail destination

intu Watford is a thriving shopping centre and our transformative extension project is underway to make it bigger and better.

Our £180 million investment will create an impressive single1.4 million sq ft retail and leisure destination to entice visitors from further, more often and, to stay for longer.

We’ll be making room for even more great retail brands such as Debenhams, Superdry and Jack Wills. We're also introducing a variety of new and interesting restaurant concepts such as The Florist and and leisure activities for the whole family to enjoy, including a nine-screen IMAX Cineworld cinema and Hollywood Bowl.

intu Watford is already a thriving centre but it's set to become one of the best shopping towns in the UK, providing customers with even more reasons to visit and explore all that the town has to offer from morning into the evening.

We’re transforming the centre into a contemporary shopping experience providing a fantastic place to shop, eat and play. It will massively strengthen intu Watford as a destination retailers want to invest in and our visitors enjoy"

A positive impact

Driving the local economy

Because customers are at the heart of what we do, we believe it’s important to invest in the communities we’re a part of to give them a place they can be proud of.

This development is about more than the physical space. It’s about the relationships we’re able to build with local people and businesses, the creation of hundreds of jobs during the build and beyond, and the broader economic benefits that additional leisure and retail provides for the town of Watford, as it becomes a top 20 retail and leisure destination, alongside Bristol and Edinburgh.

The existing footfall at the centre is really strong and the affluent catchment is perfect for our exclusive 'Designers at Debenhams' portfolio of brands

Off on a big adventure

Our much loved wooden animals that were once the centrepiece of Charter Place have been getting ready for a big adventure. Since our development works commenced we’ve given the animals some time rest - we even treated them to a nice coat of varnish to make sure they looked tip top for their outing, Now they can be found at their new home at the Cha Cha Cha café in Cassiobury Park where they'll continue to be enjoyed by the community for years to come!
