intu Trafford Centre, Manchester

From its luxurious marble malls to the rich range of shopping and leisure on offer, intu Trafford Centre is perhaps the single best-known and most iconic retail and leisure centre in the UK

Whatever the brand of the moment, you’ll find it at intu Trafford Centre, which sits at the heart of the established Trafford City area.

From Michael Kors to Pull&Bear, and from Ted Baker to Abercrombie & Fitch – they’re all at intu Trafford Centre, alongside dozens and dozens of other big names.

As many as 3,500 coaches pull up at the centre every year, on top of regular shoppers and leisure-seekers coming by car or public transport, generating a 29 million-strong annual footfall. The £350m extension of Manchester’s Metrolink tram network will see the new Trafford Park line open to passengers in April 2020 connecting two stops at intu Trafford Centre with the City Centre and attractions such as Old Trafford, Media City and the Imperial War Museum.

Boosted by long opening hours and powerful marketing, the centre’s core customers are affluent ABC1 visitors for day-out experiences that far surpass the idea of a simple shopping trip.

A pioneering autism-friendly approach

intu Trafford Centre has pioneered intu’s efforts to make all its centres autism-friendly by 2018. Thanks to a new partnership with local charity the Together Trust, formed in 2015, we’ve transformed the way centre staff interact to support families impacted by the condition.
