Delivering the same brand experience in Spain and the UK
In 2015 the intu brand went international when our first Spanish acquisition, Parque Principado, completed its first stage of rebrand to intu Asturias after a modernization programme that saw the centre upgraded and a new customer experience introduced which bears all the hallmarks of the intu brand.
The high level of digital connectivity, compelling events and the world-class service for which intu is already well-known, are proving as popular with Spanish customers as they are with British shoppers
intu reigns in Spain
In Puerto Venecia, Zaragoza, the second of Spains top-10 shopping centres, footfall is up 4% and retailer sales are up by 13% reflecting improving economic confidence and the work we have done on improving the retail and leisure mix.
Our next step is to rebrand Puerto Venecia, bringing the intu twist to this already established centre, creating a leisure destination that customers will visit time and time again.
The future retail resort
intu Costa del Sol is the first of our new concept retail resorts which will redefine the shopping centre category, and will be developed from the ground up. Alongside this, we have options on three key sites in Valencia, Vigo and Palma.
