Escape Hunt to launch new experiences at intu Chapelfield
intu has signed a deal with leisure operator Escape Hunt to create a series of team-based, immersive entertainment experiences at intu Chapelfield
The experiences include one of the brand’s most popular escape games, Alice in Puzzleland, and forms part of the global operator’s expansion into new areas of the country.
It will bring a brand-new leisure offer to intu Chapelfield under intu’s plans to create compelling day-out destinations, with crazy golf courses, climbing walls and new food brands opening across its portfolio of popular shopping destination over the last few years.
Compelling and innovative leisure attractions like Escape Hunt are drawing in more visitors from far and wide who are then staying longer to make the most of all the other great brands in our centres.

A £72 million leisure-led extension launched at intu Lakeside last summer and other centres including intu Watford, intu Metrocentre and intu Broadmarsh are also introducing new attractions to draw in more visitors.
Kate Grant, regional managing director at intu, said: “intu Chapelfield is already an East Anglian hot-spot for shopping and dining and Escape Hunt is set to thrive here by creating a brilliant new experience for visitors from across the region to enjoy.
“Compelling and innovative leisure attractions like Escape Hunt are drawing in more visitors from far and wide who are then staying longer to make the most of all the other great brands in our centres. This is the first escape room concept in our portfolio and the huge potential of this kind of attraction to flourish at intu’s centres means we’re keen to explore other opportunities.”
There are nearly 50 Escape Hunt locations across 27 countries and nine locations in the UK.

intu Chapelfield is located at the heart of Norwich and a key retail destination in East Anglia, with an annual footfall of 15 million. It is managed by intu on behalf of a joint venture between intu and LaSalle Investment Management.
