Dreams can come true for employees at intu

intu is celebrating its second year for its employee recognition scheme, Win Your Dream, with the announcement of this year’s national winner.

Eric Brown at intu Eldon Square was awarded his £1,000 dream for embracing the company values of bold, creative and genuine.

After just six months of joining intu, Eric has made a huge impact which has seen him receive compliments from colleagues and customers alike - and even a box of chocolates from a very happy customer!

As part of his customer service training, Eric joined the clown school project where he learnt new, fun and entertaining skills which he used to bring random moments of joy to customers visiting the shopping centre. Some of the skills he learnt includes balloon modelling and clown trickery. He also enhanced his magic skills which he brought to intu from his previous work experience.

When a customer visiting the centre lost her phone in a taxi, Eric accompanied her to the customer service desk and telephoned the taxi company to ensure her phone was brought back to her. Going the extra mile and demonstrating a world class service is why his colleagues nominated him for Win Your Dream.

“I’m very happy and completely blown away by this amazing award! I’m really lucky to work for such a great team and company that create joyful experiences. The compliments I’ve received from customers have been great and it’s something I’ll forever remember. intu provide a great platform for employees to be celebrated, and I’m proud to be a part of that.”

Win Your Dream celebrates employees across intu who have gone above and beyond to deliver the intu brand promise of making people smile, whether to intu’s 35 million customers, its  tenants, members of the public or, as in Eric’s case, to other colleagues.

Each month, successful nominees are awarded a golden envelope containing an intu gift card. One employee is then selected from each centre and the London office to go forward to a quarterly judging panel where they could win a prize of their choice to the value of £1,000. An independent panel then reviews the quarterly winners plus two ‘wildcards’ to choose the national winner who will win their dream prize to the value of £10,000.
